Case study
The overview
We partnered with a stealth biotech, based in Boston, MA, to build-out their vector development, preclinical, bioanalytical, pharmacology, toxicology and program management teams.
We partnered with a US-based biotech and diagnostics company that develops, manufactures, and provides sequencing and genotyping products and services to help them build out their Inside Sales team at their new office in Berlin, Germany.
The challenge
Due to strong growth in the market, senior members of our partner鈥檚 sales team were over capacity so needed to quickly hire five Inside Sales Specialists with German language skills to manage and develop inbound leads, as well as provide key support to their field teams.
Our partner needed individuals with a high-level of scientific understanding who could easily grasp and articulate their products USPs and answer complex questions so were looking at hiring scientific graduates. The challenge we faced was finding fresh graduates with PhDs who wanted to take their career into industry instead of academia. Furthermore, they needed to be able to speak German fluently and have a commercial mindset. They also wanted to bring all the new hires into the team at the same time so they could go through the training process together.
The solution
Our team worked closely with our partner鈥檚 TA team to establish key search criteria and strict deadlines to increase the likelihood of all five individuals being able to start within the agreed timeframe.
We enlisted a team of four specialist recruitment consultants to each target different institutions and identify suitable candidates. By utilising the language skills of our German team, we were able to ensure all candidates had the necessary level of German required for the role.
We presented our partner with a shortlist to meet their requirements and several were taken through to the assessment stage. We supported our partner by helping them to conduct all interviews simultaneously, and in doing so, were able to expedite the hiring process so they could onboard all five within one month of each other.
The outcome
We helped our partner to fill all the Inside Sales Specialist positions in Berlin, allowing for more senior members of the team to handover some of their tasks to the new hires and step up into new positions.
Off the success of the Berlin office, we are now supporting them in building out a new office with the same structure in Italy.
